How to get from Kaohsiung Airport to City Centre - Taiwan

There are 3 ways getting from Kaohsiung Airport to City Centre which are metro, private airport transfer and taxi. The easiest way is metro. Many attractions can access by metro and light rail. The first train from Kaohsiung Airport is 5.56 a.m. and the last train is 24:02 (weekdays and weekends). I arrived Kaohsiung Airport at 23:00. I chose private airport transfer because I came with my family (had seniors). It took time not more than half an hour for immigration process and picked up the luggages.

Metro (KMRT)

There are 2 main lines which are red and orange line. Kaohsiung Airport is R4 Station (Red line). I stayed at the hotel near Formosa Boulevard Station (O5 / R10). Travelling time was 16 minutes and fare was NT$ 30. Do not forget to check the exit gate of metro because some exits do not have an elevator or escalator.

Private Airport Transfer

I booked private transfer from KKDAY. The price was NT$730 per car (1-4 people) and NT$ 1,060 per car (5-7 people). I contacted the driver by LINE application (giving LINE ID when make a booking on website). After the airplane landed, the driver sent me the message. When the driver arrived, he asked me to cross the road from gate no.4. His car is parked at the opposite of airport. I arrived airport after 9.59 p.m. so I had to pay additional charge NT$ 200 by cash to driver.

5-seater capacity: 1 - 4 passengers, can carry up to 3 pieces of 28-inch luggage.

9-seater capacity: 5-7 passengers, can carry up to 7 pieces of 28-inch luggage.

No additional fare is required for pick-up and drop-off in the following locations:

Zuoying District, Sanmin District, Lingya District, Xingxing District, Qianjin District, Yancheng District, Xiaogang District, Qianzhen District, Gushan District (except Sizihwan and Shoushan Districts)

Service Hours: 7:31am - 9:59pm (surcharge applies for night-time: 10:00pm - 7:30am, with additional fee of NT$ 200 per one-way).

Pick-Up Point: Kaohsiung International Airport (Exit 7).
