Shopping in Saitama, Japan

Saitama prefecture is located in Kanto region, not far from Tokyo. Kawagoe and Railway Museum are popular sightseeing place in Saitama. I planned to visit Railway Museum but it is close on Tuesday and it was rainy day so I looked for some indoor activities. I decided to go shopping instead. I bought JR Pass so I took Shinkansen to Omiya Station where is the biggest station in Saitama.

From Tokyo
- Shinkansen Yamabiko / Asama / Toki / Tsubasa / Hayabusa/ Komachi (25 minutes)
- JR Takasaki Line 
- JR Keihin-Tohoku/Negishi Line Local

LUMINE is fashion shopping centers located at main train station. The shops sell women & men fashion apparels, accessories, shoes, bags, cosmetics.

West exit of Omiya Station consists of many department stores. Arche is a shopping mall focus on fashion. The first floor has Lawson convenience store. Next to Arche is Marui and DOM. There are many stores, restaurants and food court.

The skywalk from Omiya Station connect to the department stores so it is convenient. 

Next, I went to Cocoon City where is the large shopping center. From Omiya Station, take JR Keihin-Tohoku/Negishi Line Local / JR Utsunomiya Line / JR Takasaki Line to Saitama Shintoshin Station. It takes only 2 minutes. After get off the station, turn right to East Entrance.

Saitama Super Arena is also close to Saitama Shintoshin Station. It is the multi-purpose indoor arena where held the large events such as sports, concert.

Cocoon City has 3 buildings as below map. If you are looking for brand name products especially apparels, food, entertainment, Cocoon City gather everything here. Although it was rainy day, it was good for shopping.

The closest building to train station. Cocoon I consists of East, West and North Building. There are 2 floors:

1F: East Building: GODIVA, Kinokuniya, Household Goods
      West Building: GU, Matsumoto Kiyoshi, Men's & Ladies
      North Building: Food Bazaar (Food Court), LIFE Supermarket

2F: East Building: Cinema, Cafe & restaurant

      West Building: Ladies & Men, Accessories
      North Building: LOFT, Fashion Goods, Food, Apparel
