Sunflowers Field at Tsurumi Ryokuchi Park - Osaka, Japan

Tsurumiryokuchi Expo '90 Commemorative Park or Tsurumi Ryokuchi Park is huge park and free admission. This park is located at the site of world exhibition in 1990. After the expo, it became the memorial park with various flower throughout the year. The windmill is a symbol of the park.

Before I went to this park, I looked for the sunflowers field which is located not far from railway station because I did not rent the car and did want to take the taxi. Most of the recommend sunflowers field spots are far from bus stop and railway station. I also had plan to visit Osaka so I chose Tsurumi Ryokuchi Park instead of Nagai Park because I had never been to this park before and free admission.

Access

Tsurumi-ryokuchi Station on the Subway Nagahori Tsurumi-ryokuchi Line.
After get off the station (has only one exit), go upstairs. You will see the pool (but outside looks like the stadium) on the left side. Turn right and cross the road.

Tsurumi Ryokuchi Park has many entrances; North / North-east / East. The windmill is near East entrance.

After cross the road, go straight.

The pond is in front of you, then turn right. Follow the sigh to windmill.

Before I went to windmill, I walked to Hana no Tsuji and saw some of sunflowers. They are not tall because of the species.

On the way to windmill, I took photo along the way. The park is huge so there are many beautiful and tranqil corners.

Rose Garden

It was not in flower bloom seasons of the roses but sill could see some roses.

Finally, it's windmill and flower beds. They are located near the rose garden.
Sunflowers and Marigolds were full bloom. Marigold is bloom during May to November.

Sunflowers bloom during June to August. This sunflowers field may not so big like other recommend sunflower fields but I think it's big enough for the park located not far from the downtown area and convenient for transportation. It's hot and humid in summer so please prepare fan (handheld), umbrella, hat, drinking water. I visited the park about 4 p.m. but it's still sunny.
