The Momofuku Ando Instant Ramen Museum is an instant noodles museum located in Osaka. Momofuku Ando is name of creator and founder. I believe that most of you know "CUP NOODLES" brand. Yes, it is one of products here. In Yokohama also has instant noodles museum named CUPNOODLES Museum but in Osaka is free admission. If you participate in activities, need to pay extra fee.
Access
Ikeda Station on the Hankyu Takarazuka Line.
From Namba Subway (Osaka)
- Subway to Umeda Station (240 yen) and change to Umeda Hankyu Takarazuka Line to Ikeda Station (270 yen). Total 40 minutes approximately.
From Kyoto Station (Kyoto)
- Take JR Special Rapid Service to JR Osaka Station (28 minutes, 560 yen). Walk to Umeda Hankyu Station. Take Hankyu Takarazuka Line to Ikeda Station (20 minutes, 270 yen).
*- Kansai Thru Pass covers subway in Kansai Area such as Namba, Kyoto, including Hankyu Line.
- Hankyu Tourist Pass covers Hankyu Line.
The museum is approximately a 7-8 minutes walk from Ikeda Station.
Get off Ikeda Station. Pass the ticket gate, turn right and go straight. Walk to right side. Go downstairs and get off at Masumi-cho Homen Exit (right side as below photo). Turn left follow this Japanese sign. Go straight and cross the road once you see 100 shop at the opposite side. Turn right at DAILY convenience store, then go straight. The museum is on your right side.
*Non-Business Days: Tuesday (in case Tuesday is a National Holiday, the following day will be a non-business day) and Year-end through New Year Holidays.
Near the entrance there are staff who can speak English and Chinese. When enters to the museum, the souvenir shop is on the left side and exhibition is on the right side.
Instant Noodles Tunnel
The display of various instant ramen is exhibited at Instant Noodles Tunnel. I have never seen some products before because some are rare products.
Momofuku Ando and the Story of Instant Noodles
This exhibits the story from instant noodles invention in the past. Visitors can enjoy opening the doors or turning the handles to see the display inside.
CUP NOODLES Drama Theater
I like this zone. Visitors can watch the video (animation) on the large screen about the invention of CUPNOODLES and the manufacturing process. It takes about 15 minutes. It is in Japanese but easy to understand.
My CUPNOODLES Factory
You can create your own CUPNOODLES. First, purchase a cup from vending machine and design the cup. Then, select your favourite soup (e.g. seafood, curry, chili tomato) and toppings (e.g. egg, shrimp, corn, kimchi). Seal the cup and shrink wrap. You can do it as souvenir.
Fee: 300 yen for each CUPNOODLES (tax included)
Opening Hours: 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (No entry after 3:30 p.m.)
Reservations are not necessary.

Chicken Ramen Factory
Go upstairs to the 2nd floor, it's Chicken Ramen Factory. Reservation is required.
Participation fee: Elementary school children: 300 yen
Junior high school and up: 500 yen (tax included)
Every participants receive a Hiyoko-chan (the Chicken Ramen mascot) souvenir bandanna
*Admission is free when used as an elementary, junior high, or high school educational activity.
Restriction:
All visitors over the age of elementary school students. (Preschoolers are not allowed to participate in the workshop.)
Only participants are allowed to enter the workshop venue.
Schedule: 90 minute sessions are run daily starting at:

Age and group sizes: Up to 48 children of elementary school age and older per session.
How to Make Reservations
Reservations can be made via the website or by telephone from 10:00 a.m., up to three months prior to the desired date.
Notes:
* If the museum is closed on the day three months before the desired date, please contact the museum after 10:00 a.m. on the next day it is open.
* If there is no day on the calendar three months before the desired date, then contact us on the first day the museum is open the following month.
* Reservations must be made no later than 4:00 p.m. on the day before the desired date.
Reservations for up to 20 persons can be made by our PC website, mobile phone website, or telephone.
Reservations for groups of 21 persons or more (group reservations) are accepted only by telephone.
Making Chicken Ramen at the Chicken Ramen Factory is conducted in pairs. Reservations for one visitor only cannot be accepted. Please make reservations for an even number of persons whenever possible.

Tasting Room
There are vending machines selling CUPNOODLES in tasting room. You can eat some ramen in this room.
