Do you have a plan for one day trip in Taipei?
There are many sightseeing spots in Taipei but if your time is limited or don't know where should start. This is only my guide for one day trip in Taiwan.
Mostly, taking the metro in Taipei is the most convenient way.
Metro
You can check the fare rate at the website.
If you buy Easy Card (IC Card), it is touch and go card and can used with metro, bus and convenience stores.
One day pass, Two day pass, Three Day and Five Day pass are available.
1 Day Pass: 180 NTD
2 Day Pass: 310 NTD
3 Day Pass: 440 NTD
5 Day Pass: 700 NTD

Youth travel card
This card is useful and tourists can get the dicount for museum and some shops.
Youth Travel Card is for people ages between 15-30 only.
The tourists can apply for this card at the airport, visitor centres at railway station.

Taipei 101
On 1st-5th floors are shopping mall for brand names product. Observation Deck is on 89th Floor but the ticket counter is on 5th floor.
Admission Fee is 500 NT (Adult)
On Basement floor has food court and supermarket.

National Palace Museum
National Palace Museum is an interesting place for learning the history and this museum has collected the treasures. When I arrived the entrance, I saw how hugh of this museum is so I had taken my family photo in front of the museum. There were many tourists visit here so it was crowded inside the museum but it is worth to visit here.
Opening hours: 8.30 a.m. - 6.30 p.m.

Jiannan Road Station and take the bus B20 (Brown 20) to National Palace Museum
Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall
The Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall is huge. Can learn the history and see the beautiful architecture of the building. Easy to get to by metro. If you climb up to reach memorial hall and turn back, you will see the great view.

Martyr's Shrine
Can see the ceremony of changing guards every hour. Many tourists visit here. Nothing much to see. We could see the hall from the outside but the scenery around the hall is clean and the architectures are beautiful.

Jiantan station, Exit 1 and take the bus 267, 556, 902 to Martyr's Shrine
Ximending
Ximending is one of popular shopping centre in Taipei. Local people especially teenagers and tourists like to visit this place. There are many shops and restaurants. Shops both sell local goods and brand name products. Ximen station is just only 1 station from Taipei Main station.
