(Review) Saga Hotel Oslo Central - Oslo, Norway

Normally, the hotel's room rate in Oslo is quite high. I chose Saga Hotel because of the location and the price. The hotel is located near Oslo S Central Station and the price is reasonable comparing with other hotels. Actually, I hesitated about the hotel. I had two choices in my mind which were Saga and Citybox Oslo. Citybox Oslo is closer to Central Station more than Saga but does not offer breakfast. I stayed in Oslo on Sunday and Monday. Mostly, the shops close on Sunday so I prefer the hotel includes breakfast for me. Room rate of Saga hotel is a little bit higher than Citybox Oslo but includes the breakfast.

Access

Get off at Oslo S Station (Central Station). Walk 10 minutes or take tram no. 12, 13, 19 and get off at Ã˜vre Slottsgate stop and short walk to hotel. The stop is nor far from Steen & Strøm Department Store.

The hotel is near convenience store "Joker" The price of products is high and not variety but is ok if you buy the necessary things and the shop is also open on Sunday.

When arrive the hotel If the entrance door of the hotel is close, press the button and door will be open automatically. I made the payment upon the arrival and paid by credit card. The hotel does not require pin code. I reserved the family room even only 3 persons stayed in this room. After get off the elevator, press the button on the right side of the door and it will be open and close automatically.

When enter or get out the room, the door will be locked automatically but delay for 30 seconds so if you want to lock the door immediately, touch the key card again.

I got the corner room so the scenery was nice. The space is enough for putting luggage and walk around. There is no kettle or free tea & coffee in the room. If you want the boil water, go to the basement floor. TV is available in the room but the program is not interesting.

If you visit Norway in winter, do not forget to switch on the heater because it will be cold at night. The heater is under the TV.

The bathroom is not too small. The hairdryer is in the bathroom. The towels are on the bed.

The breakfast room is on basement floor where you can get the boil water. Breakfast on weekday starts at 7 a.m. and weekend at 8 a.m. You can come prior the time around 10 minutes. The breakfast is good, various choices and good taste. The menus are scramble eggs, bacon, ham, sausage, potato, champignon, bread with jam or chocolate, salad, smoothie, fruits, juice, tea, coffee and etc.

After breakfast time, the customers are freely to use this room such as reading the book, bring some food and take here.

If you would like to buy some food or snacks with not the high price, go to supermarket at Central Station.
