Bon Odori Festival - Bangkok, Thailand

Bon Odori Festival this year marked 130 years of Thai-Japanese diplomatic relations. The previous Bon Odori in Bangkok was held 3 years ago. In year 2017, Bon Odori Festival was held on 16 December 2017 at National Stadium (Bangkok), near MBK Center. Some people wore yukata.

The festival started at 4:00 p.m. I took BTS skytrain to National Stadium Station. I went there around 5:00 p.m. I bought the ticket at the counter. Someone already bought it in advance.

The admission is 60 Baht and you will get a fan. Frankly speaking, I think the visitors should get some small souvenir or at least one small drinking water. Your ticket can join the lucky draw. The festival was held in the winter so for me, no need to use a fan.

There are food stalls both left and right side. The price is ok, not too expensive. Some booth had long queue. I just looked around first before buying some food.

There are Japanese and Thai performances on stage.

The mascot of this event "Muay Thai Shi", The mascot of Wakayama and the last one I don't remember the name.

The traditional dance from Iwate.

The Show from "Sweat 16" idol group.

The first half of performances were finished. I went to buy some food for my dinner.
There are plenty seats available. Some group brought their own mat.

The opening ceremony starts at 6 p.m.

The visitors waited for seeing the main shows.

Awa Odori is the most popular dances in Japan. Awa Odori Festival is held as part of Bon Odori in Tokushima. The visitors can participate the dance. I am in this festival until Awa Odori was finished. There were other shows and fireworks for closing the ceremony.
