Shopping around Umeda and Osaka Station - Osaka, Japan


Umeda Station and Osaka Station are the busy area all day. These areas are not only big shopping center same as Namba but also can transfer to JR, Hanshin Railway and Hankyu Railway which connect to nearby cities such as Kyoto and Kobe. Osaka station is big station but does not connect with shinkansen. If you would like to visit Osaka by shinkansen, must get off at JR Shin-Osaka Station and interchange to Midosuji Subway line.



Access

From Kansai International Airport 
  - Take JR Kansai Airport Rapid Service for Kyobashi line to Osaka Station. Fare is 1,190 yen (70 minutes).

From Namba Station
  - Take Midosuji Subway Line (Red Line) to Umeda station. Fare is 240 yen (10 minutes). 
  - Take Yotsubashi Subway Line (Blue Line) to Nishi-Umeda Station. Fare is 240 yen. Fare is 240 yen.

Refer to the above map, each train station (orange highlight color) is not far from each other. There are five stations named or end with Umeda as follows:

1. Umeda Station: Midosuji Line (Red Color)       
2. Nishi-Umeda Station: Yotsubashi Line (Blue Color)       
3. Higshi-Umeda Station: Tanimachi Line (Purple Color)          
4. Umeda Station: Hankyu Line
5. Umeda Station: Hanshin Line

Another train station is JR Osaka station which nears Subway Midosuji Line.
Umeda station has many exits and has passage to department stores.
There are big department stores, several hotels and restaurants around this area. 
The transportation is very convenient although you have the luggage but try to avoid the rush hours. These are some shopping centers and sightseeing spot.
  

Yodobashi Camera: a store selling electronic products such as camera, mobile phones, earphones, CD & DVD and etc. There are many branches in Japan and have tax free service. Opening Hours: 9:30-22:00

Whity Umeda - Underground shopping passage at Umeda Station. The shops are open around 10:00-21:00

HEP (Hankyu Entertainment Park) - There is outstanding Ferris Wheel on the top of this building. Other floors mostly are fashion, shops, and restaurants.
Opening Hours: 11:00-21:00

Grand Front Osaka - It was opened in 2013. It is large shopping place and connect with Osaka station. Grand Front Osaka also has gardens. 

Umeda Sky Building (Floating Gardden Observatory) - This building provides 360 degrees view. Can see the view of Osaka. Admission 800 yen. If you buy Osaka Amazing Pass, the admission fee is already included. Opening Hours: 10:00-23:00 (entrance until 22:00).
