Expo 2025 is held during 13 April - 13 October 2025 in Osaka, Japan. This world expo is held every 5 years. Five years ago the expo was held in Dubai. This is the second time for Osaka. Expo 2025 is held at Yumeshima. It is easy to access by metro or shuttle bus.
I visited Expo 2025 for 2 days. I bought the ticket on website. You can also buy the ticket directly on website or through the travel agents such as Klook.
If you purchase the ticket on official website, there are 2 website channels. First, buying the official digital ticket so you can change the date of visit, time and book the pavillions so you must register expo ID. Second, buying the ticket without register expo ID but you cannot book the pavillion. If you ask me what I should select. My recommendation is the first choice. In case you visit expo with your friend or family, you register only 1 expo ID and buy the tickets for them. The maximum ticket you can purchase is 14 tickets a time. When you book the pavillions, you can also book the pavillions for them.
After the ticket payment is completed, you will get ticket with QR Code.
I visited the expo on early May. I bought the ticket since last year so my ticket price was 5,000 yen/person.

Conclusion and Tips
1. Choose the preferred type of ticket.
2. Make a payment.
3. Reserving the date and time, gate (west or east). West gate for shuttle bus (not free) and east gate is for metro. You must check the available time. If your preferred time is fully booked, you must select other time instead.
Shuttle bus is available at majoy stations in Osaka. You can check the bus timetable, fare and bus stop on website.
4. Applying for lotteries: It does not mean you will get the prize. If you do not want to wait for long queue, please reserve the pavillions after you get the ticket. You can select up to 5 pavillions. However, you may not get all what your selected. Reserving the lotteries can do from 2 months, 7 days before ticket date and on site registration. The first announcement you may get only 1 out of 5 pavilions or do not get any out of 5 pavilions. The second chance is 7 days before ticket date. You can check the available slot time from the list and you will know the result immediately.

Some pavillions require a reservation and some are not. No need to reserve a pavillions if you do not want to enter the popular pavillions. If you enter the expo around 9 a.m., you can run to that pavillion and queue up. Be careful, reservation of some pavillion is the must.
5. The earliest time for expo entry is 9 a.m. and the next entry is 10 a.m. (every hour).
6. You should arrive the expo before reserved time at least 30-40 minutes (my point of view).
There is security check. The staff also check the drinking bottle. You can bring your own snack, food and drinking water to the expo. There are restaurants, food truck, convenience store, drink vending machines inside the expo. However, the queue is long for both convenience stores and restaurants especially during lunch time. Food price especially the main dishes are expensive but the drinks from vending machines is only 10-20 yen higher than outside. Refill drinking water spots are available (mostly are near toilets and vending machines).
7. Toilets have many areas but some spots are unisex toilets.
8. Payment at expo is cashless. You can use credit card, debit card, IC Card, Wechat pay, Alipay, True Money, K Plus and etc.
9. Check the weather forecast. On the first day of my visit was rainy day, luckily I brought my umbrella. Items required (for me): umbrella, sunglasses, hat, jacket (in case of windy or rainy day), power bank.
10. The souvenirs price are quite high. You can buy souvenirs not only in the expo, some items also available at some department stores or shops.
11. Metro ticket or metro pass.
Normally, one day pass (Enjoy Eco card) covers the transportation (bus and metro) in Osaka but it does not cover Yumeshima Station.
Subway Fare: Namba Station to Yumeshima Station is 430 yen. Enjoy Eco card (620 yen / 820 yen) does not cover Yumeshima Station. You can use IC Card or buy Osaka Metro 1 Day or 2 Day Pass.
What is Osaka Metro 1 Day or 2 Day Pass?
You can ride Osaka Metro Pass and Osaka Metro & City Bus Pass unlimited and get special discounts at sightseeing place. Osaka Metro 1 Day or 2 Day Pass covers the fare at Yumeshima Station so you can access to Expo 2025.
Osaka Metro 1 Day Pass: 1,100 yen
Osaka Metro 2 Day Pass: 1,800 yen (Consecutive Day)
Osaka Metro & City Bus Pass 1 Day: 1,200 yen*
Osaka Metro & City Bus Pass 2 Day: 1,800 yen (Consecutive Day)*
You can choose to receive E-ticket (QR code entry) or physical ticket (redemption needed). Physical ticket is better because QR Code entry is available at every metro stations.
I bought the ticket from Klook because it was convenience and got some discount. After the payment was successful, I received QR code and redeem the ticket at major metro stations. At first, I went to ticket office at Namba Station around 10 a.m. but the office opens 12 p.m. The office hours on annoucement are not always right.

12. Destination is Yumeshima station. Please take a look at the metro map.
Tip: You can access the expo by two ways (metro), you can choose:
12.1 Ride the metro Midosuji Line (red line) and interchange at Honmachi Station to Yumeshima Station by Chuo Line (green line). This way is easy but it's crowded especially the way to expo.
12.2 Ride the metro Yotsubashi line (blue line) to Suminokoen Station (terminal station), interchange to New Tram line to Cosmosquare Station. Then, again interchange to Chuo Line to Yumeshima Station. One Day Pass covers the fare at New Tram line. This way is not hard and can avoid the crowd.
