Nintendo Museum in Kyoto, Japan

Nintendo Co., Ltd. is a Japanese video games company. The well-known games are Mario, Pokemon and etc. This year, Nintendo Museum will open in Uji, Kyoto on 2nd October 2024. The museum displays the history of Nintendo games hardware and software, the products have been released. The visitors can enjoy the games provided and workshop. Moreover, you can purchase the special goods at the shop.

Access

The museum does not offer parking spaces so please take public transportation.



From Kyoto Station:

1. Kintetsu Railway Kyoto Line to Ogura Station (20 minutes, 360 yen), East Exit and walk 5 minutes

2. JR Nara Line to JR Ogura Station (28 minutes, 300 yen), North Exit and walk 8 minutes

10:00-18:00 (Last admission 16:30)

Cosed: Tuesdays and through the New Year's holiday season (Dec. 30 – Jan. 3)

*If Tuesday is a national holiday, the museum will be open but closed the following day (Wednesday).


For visitors using a wheelchair or stroller

The underground passageway outside the station connecting the West exit and East exit of Ogura Station has only stairs (no elevators or slopes). If you are using a wheelchair or stroller, please use the alternative route shown in blue on the map.

Advance ticket purchase is required to enter. The museum is accepting reservations for October - November 2024. The reservation deadlines is 23:59 on 31st August 2024. You can check the schedule on website.

Adults (ages 18+) 3,300 yen

Junior and senior high school students (ages 12-17) 2,200 yen

Child (ages 6-11) 1,100 yen

Preschooler (ages 0-5) Free

*Only credit cards (Visa, Mastercard and JCB) can be used to pay for tickets. 

All prices include tax.

Tickets grant entry only at the listed date and time.

Interactive exhibits require digital coins to use.

Visitors will be granted a limited number of coins upon entering the museum. Because coins are limited, visitors will not be able to experience all of the museum's interactive exhibits in a single visit


The visitors can experience the Nintendo entertainment but coins are required for the interact exhibits. Find more information about digital coins, click here.

Craft & Play Workshop


Craft Room (Let's Make Hanafuda)

Hanafuda  is a traditional japanese playing cards.

Duration: 60 minutes

Fee: 2,000 yen (tax included)


Play Room (Try Playing Hanafuda)

Duration: 30 minutes

Fee: 500 yen (tax included)

*This experience is for groups of two.

A separate fee is required to participate the workshop. Reservations are on a first-come, first-served. Reservations are available only for workshops that begin within 3 hours of the entry time indicated on your ticket.

You can check available time slots and make reservations at the information counter in the lobby on the 1st floor of Exhibition Building 1 or at the Craft & Play workshop information desk on the 2nd floor of Exhibition Building 3.



*Reservations for workshops are accepted from 10:30 to 16:30.

Cafe & Shop

The cafe and shop are located inside Nintendo Museum and is open only to ticket holders.

Operation Hours: 10:00-18:00 (Last order 17:30)
