(Review) Hotel Pearl City Morioka - Iwate, Japan

Hotel Pearl City Morioka is located in Tohoku region, Iwate prefecture. Morioka Station sounds may not familiar to tourist but the location is good. The department store is next to this station, also convenient for traveling to Aomori and Akita. Therefore, I selected the accommodation in this area. There are few hotels closed to the station and quickly booked so the distance is 10 minutes walking to hotel is acceptable for me.

Access

From Tokyo

Take Shinkansen Hayabusa / Yamabiko / Komachi from Tokyo to Morioka Station (133-198 minutes). Komachi Shinkansen is the slowest train among these. 



From Aomori

Take Shinkansen Hayabusa from Shin-Aomori Station to Morioka Station. It takes about 1 hour.

Get off Morioka Station, take the escalator down to FESAN on your right hand side as below photo. 

Go to basement floor. Turn left and go straight (underground passage) until you see B-1 Exit so get off at B-1 exit. There are elevator and stairs.

After go up to first floor, go straight (opposite of Morioka Station). Cross Kiaun bridge.
Small flower park is located under the bridge and near Kitakami River which is the largest river in Tohoku. You can take the stairs down and take photo for free of charge.

For your information, you can see Mount Iwate from the bridge if the weather is good.

Short walk from the bridge, finally arrive hotel. Please see my yellow sign.

In front of hotel.

Enter to hotel, you will see the escalator and stairs. Unfortunately, when I arrived there, the escalator was going down. That's why I need to take my luggage and walked up by stairs. I guess that the escalator going down in the morning because it is in the period of check-out.

Here is hotel lobby. The hotel is not a modern style but it is clean and comfortable.

I booked twin room. Room rate was included breakfast. The price was reasonable although it was weekend.

Enough space between beds and desk. Free teas are near the kettle.
