Travelling Between Helsinki Airport and City Centre - Helsinki, Finland

Finland is the world's most happiest country. After I visited the Scandinavia, I should not miss Finland which is near Sweden.

Travelling between Helsinki Airport and City Centre by bus or train are both convenient.
After pass immigration (very strict) and picked up the luggage, I bought the train ticket. I recommend taking the train because it is convenient especially you have the luggage.

Bus

Bus Local Line 615 runs between Helsinki Airport and Helsinki Railway Station. You can check the timetable from here. Bus departs from Terminal 2

Lentoasema = Airport
Rautatientori = Helsinki Railway Station

Train

I bought the ticket at vending machine. Just follow the sign to train as below photo.

Take the escalator down. The ticket fare between airport and city centre is 5 Euro/person for one way. 24 Hour ticket for travelling in Helsinki is 9 Euro/person so I decided to buy a regional ticket (24 hours, 14 Euro) which includes the fare between airport and city, transportation in Helsinki. The ticket is valid 24 hours from the ticket issued time. This ticket is no need to validate on board.The ticket price is the information before 27th April 2019.

The new fare zone system starts from 27th April 2019. I will write down the detail later.

You can check the detail on the board.

I arrived Helsinki station around 10 pm. Even it's late night, there were people walking around central station. Of course, the shops are closed. It's cold and windy so I hurried to get to hotel.  The bus and tram stop are in front of the central station.

Helsinki Central Station (Finnish: Helsingin päärautatieasema, Swedish: Helsingfors centralstation) is the main station in Helsinki. There are hotels and shopping places around this station. You can use day ticket taking the bus, tram and metro with unlimited rides. Just keeping the ticket with you, no need to show to the driver. I was surprise seeing many women drive the trams. It's nice. Also, many people here smoke in this city.
