Pass for Sightseeing Around Okayama and Tottori, Japan

Sightseeing in Okayama and Tottori is interesting. There are many attractions especially the beautiful nature so it may be good if we can buy the pass for saving the travel cost and getting some benefits.

My major plan was visiting Gosho Aoyama Manga Factory (Conan), Tottori Sand Dunes (Tottori Station), Mizuki Shigeru Museum, Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter. It's hard to find only one pass covers these areas except you hold JR Pass All Pass.

If you would like to visit sightseeing in Kansai region including Okayama and Kurashiki, Tottori Station, the travel fare is covered by Kansai Wide Area Pass. Regarding my plan, Kansai Wide Area Pass does not cover Gosho Aoyama Manga Factory (Conan) and Mizuki Shigeru Museum so I bought 2 types of ticket as follows:

Kansai Wide Area Pass (9,000 yen) + San'in Okayama Area Pass (4,500 yen) = 13,500 yen.

San'in Okayama Area Pass is JR west rail pass, offers unlimited ride in Okayama area (including Tottori). The validity period is 4 days. This pass does not cover the travel between Okayama area and Kansai Airport. Please see the below map for your reference.

- Non-reserved seats on Express Trains 'YAKUMO,SUPER HAKUTO (INCL.Kamigori⇔Chizu) etc.'

- Rapid Services, and Local trains on JR-WEST Conventional lines

* These trains below cannot be used

- Bullet Train "SANYO SHINKANSEN" (Shin-Osaka⇔Hakata)

*A rail pass is valid for consecutive days.

Kansai Wide Area Pass

Valid trains are below;

- Non-reserved seats on Bullet Train "SANYO SHINKANSEN" (Shin-Osaka⇔Okayama)
･ The pass can be used for non-reserved seats on the "Hello Kitty Shinkansen".
- Non-reserved seats on Express Trains HARUKA, KUROSHIO, THUNDERBIRD, KOUNOTORI, SUPER HAKUTO, SUPER INABA, etc.
- Special Rapid Services, Rapid Services, and Local trains on JR-WEST Conventional lines

* For reserved seats, please purchase a Limited Express Reserved Seat Ticket from a JR-WEST Ticket Office or other location before boarding

* These trains below cannot be used

- Bullet Train "TOKAIDO SHINKANSEN" (Shin-Osaka⇔Tokyo)
- Bullet Train "SANYO SHINKANSEN" (Okayama⇔Hakata)

- Bullet Train "KYUSHU SHINKANSEN" (Hakata⇔Kagoshima-Chuo).

I used Kansai Wide Area Pass for travelling from Kansai Airport to Okayama, then used San'in Okayama Area Pass to Tottori and Yonago.
