Regarding the previous article, I had free time in the afternoon after visiting Baomo Garden and Shawan Ancient Town. The charter car dropped us at the hotel. My parents took some rest at the hotel and I visited other attractions by subway alone. Attractions in Guangzhou easily access by subway and the fare starts at 2 CNY. When I went down to subway entrance gate, there was security check (scan the baggage) like the airport.
After the security check, let's buy the ticket. The below photo is the ticket machine. Some machine does not accept the cash. The machine accepts only 5 and 10 CNY banknote, wechatpay and alipay.
Useful application: AMAP Global (Gaode Map) -> No need to register and can change language. The application has map in english version. I think AMAP is more convenient than Apple Map because Apple map still showed many destination in chinese language.
Guangzhou Metro Map
You can download map in full version on Guangzhou International Website
I checked the estimate metro fare from this website.
Dafo Temple (大佛寺) is very big temple and known as the Big Buddha Temple.
Free admission
Access:
Metro Line 6, Beijing Lu Station, exit A or B
Beijing Lu Station was near Dafo Temple but I got off Gongyuanqian Station, exit D. There were shopping malls near Gongyuanqian Station so this below map was based on the direction from Gongyuanqian Station
Opening Hour: 6:00-21:00
Walk less than 5 minutes, I arrived Beijing Road Pedestrian Street where is one of shopping streets that should visit when arrive Guangzhou. There are local food and restaurants along both side.
The first photo is entrance gate if you come from Beijing Road Pedestrian Street.
Keep walking to Teemall Department Store (Beijing Road) where you can buy fashion goods, brandname products and souvenirs.
Let's move to another shopping street. Going down to basement floor of Teemall and take subway (Beijing Road Station) to Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street. Get off Cultural Park Station (Line 6 or 8), exit E.
Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street was not busy like Beijing Road Pedestrian Street but you still can find the local food and popular dishes or drinks of Guangzhou.
I bought nothing from both pedestrian streets. I went back to hotel and shopping nearby. I stayed at the hotel near Jiangtai Road Station (Metro Line 2). There were shopping mall, restaurants and supermarket near the hotel. I will put more detail about shopping area near Jiantai Road Station in the hotel review later.
Next day, it was the date to going back home. The flight depature time was in the afternoon so in the morning I was still have free time. I decided going to R&F Haizhu Cheng where has two buildings of shopping mall. The opening hour is 10 a.m. but most of the shops open around 10:30 or 11:00.
Access: Jiangnan West / Jiangnanxi Station, Exit B
Hotmaxx, a chain of discount store where you can find snacks, drinks, souvenirs and etc. The products price are cheaper than the convenience stores. This branch opens 10 a.m. and the store is on basement floor.
